Martin Bartlam

Martin Bartlam is executive Director at Immerso AI. Ranked as one of the leading Fintech lawyers in the world and previously acting as General Counsel and Head of Business Affairs at Xfinite Global Plc, within the Eros Investments Group, Martin is working with the Company to apply AI, Web3 and Metaverse technologies to a wide array of applications including film, music, gaming, media and entertainment. In this fast-moving IP and technology led environment working within the legal and regulatory framework is of critical importance.  Martin has extensive understanding of the regulatory environment as it applies to digital businesses, having advised companies around the world on establishing digital exchanges, token issuance, digital custody and product structuring. Martin also has years of business experience in helping businesses grow, raise money, address difficult challenges and negotiate and complete M&A deals. 

Prior to joining the Eros Investments Group Martin headed the Fintech and Blockchain business at Global law firm DLA Piper and prior to that headed the Finance, Projects and Restructuring business at DLA Piper for 5 years. Martin also previously headed the London office of US law Firm Orrick, Herrington and Sutcliffe and previously has headed the Structured Products team as an investment banker at Calyon (the investment banking arm of Credit Agricole). 

Martin has worked as a lawyer and a banker. Based in the City of London for over 35 years, he has advised many of the world’s largest funds and financial institutions as well as start ups and corporate businesses. Martin is recognised for Fintech in the Legal 500 Hall of Fame and has won several awards for securitisation and digitalisation. He is currently at the forefront of applying technology to provide efficient delivery of legal services and solutions. 

In 2023 Martin chaired the Advisory Council of Global Digital Finance (the largest digital industry body) and acted on the merger of Global Digital Finance with the Global Blockchain Business Council. Martin has also acted on a number of projects in the FCA Sandbox and was asked by the FCA to act as a Digital Mentor to its digital sandbox.
